Hollywood Reporter announced that The Sookie Stackhouse series, from which the TV series True Blood was inspired will be coming to an end very soon. It will have a total of thirteen books!
“I’m writing Book Twelve and then there will be Book Thirteen. And then I’ll think of something else new and wonderful to do,” Harris told PopcornBiz.
Charlaine also specified that after book 13, it will be really over.
“I don’t go back to things once I’ve finished them,” she said. “I don’t want to write Sookie after I get stale.”
“Yeah, I’ll miss them, I’m sure, because I have lived with them for quite a long time — twelve years now,” she added. “But I think writers like to do different things. At least this writer does.”
It seems a lot of very popular series are coming to an end lately and while it’s really sad to see our favorite characters go, we’ll hopefully get to meet new and exciting ones!
What do you guys think of this news? Have you read all the Sookie books so far?
I’m still a bit late, have read the first eight books so far ^^
