Top Five Most Fascinating Supernatural Dudes
by Tiffany Allee

I don’t think that I’m alone in my love for the tough, sexy, intelligent men that can be found in paranormal romance and urban fantasy books. In fact, I daresay that’s a big part of the draw of these books for many of us.

The hero of my latest release, vampire Claude Desmarais, is certainly a bit of a mystery to the heroine, Beatrice. And she has a few secrets of her own. But when their pasts collide, it will send them both into a fight for their lives.

So without further ado, here are some of the supernatural men I find most fascinating.

Listed in an order that changes every five minutes or so:

5. Bran Cornick (Mercy Thompson)

Bran is the only non-love interest to make my list of most fascinating. Why? Because he’s a badass. Mysterious. Not alpha looking in the traditional sense. He sneaks up on people because he appears so…harmless. I love that.

4. Anyan (Jane True)

The man is protective and loveable and has taken care of Jane for far longer than she realized. Plus, he turns into a dog. And in my head, he’s freaking adorable.

3. Barrons (Fever)

Barrons is mysterious. Tough. Unattainable. Getting to his core, touching on his story, took several books and a whole lot of craziness. But he was totally worth the wait. Even after reading the Fever series in its entirety, I feel like we’re still scratching the surface of this very complicated man—not to mention the rest of his crew.

2. Zsadist (Black Dagger Brotherhood)

Uhh…somehow I managed to not start the BDB series until very recently. I have no explanation for how this happened, but it’s being corrected, don’t you worry. Zsadist is now one of my favorite characters of all time. He’s so broken, yet strong. I love characters with real imperfections, real problems. And I can’t think of any as troubled as Zsadist. Which makes his story all the more touching.

1. Terrible (Downside)

Speaking of imperfect heroes, I never thought I’d find a drug dealer’s enforcer amazing and sexy and wonderful until I read the Downside series. Terrible is a perfect mix of imperfections. And the way he and the heroine, Chess, interact will make you fly and break your heart. I’ve never had such an emotional reaction to characters as I do with these two.

Who are some of your favorite supernatural dudes in fiction?

Here's the scoop on VAMPIRE GAMES:

Vampire Games by Tiffany AlleeShe’s seen the past…

OWEA Agent Beatrice Davis is haunted by the death visions that help her solve crimes. When Detective Claude Desmairis, her vampire ex-lover, asks for her assistance on a case, she’d rather help him than take the mandated leave to stave off her burn-out.

The truth won’t stay buried…

Pressed to solve a series of crimes before the perpetrator blows the vampire world apart, Claude turns to a woman he thought he’d been able to leave behind. But he was wrong, and his feelings for her will only bring trouble in an investigation this dangerous.

As their passions reignite, they see a possible future together. Until her visions show her the face of the murderer—a man Claude can never betray.

  9. Thanks, all! And I hear you on the "many more" thing--it's so tough to narrow it down, Stacey! :D

  10. I can't believe I've read every series you name a fascinating supernatural dude from. Really surprised you picked Bran since we don't really know much about him even though he had a larger role in the Alpha Omega series' last book. (Briggs' writes two werewolves series if you didn't know about Aloha & Omega which stars Bran's son and his wife).

Curran from the Kate Daniels series would be at the top of my FSD list.

  11. Book sounds great! Would love to read a copy! Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. Why does this have to be the ONLY reballie source? Oh well, gj!

  13. Honestly you have totally ruined me - Wycombe will never be good enough - I want to go back to the Walsall charity shops! Can't wait to hear all about tomorrow! That dress is a beaut and such a bargian. I need to get into Frida - she was amazing

  14. Preach on, sister! I totally agree!! I also love the typists analogy – there used to be pools of typists inside organizations. Now we all type.It was so much fun to finally meet you! You’re absolutely darling and wicked smart to boot! Next time we need to find a way to sneak away so we can have some one-on-one time (that’s the introvert in me). Hope to see you soon!

  15. Happy World Cat Day,,,Baby Patches,,,and I hope Mommy gets to feeling better ! Your little mini-me is the spitting, or shouild I say, “the hissing”, image of you. Have a great week-end !

  16. ESO, I think you’re exactly right. The models, at least in my limited experience, have some general accuracy (there are always exceptions to the rule, of course), though they do not literally map on to the geography described.

  17. I’d use half of it to buy property in the country where I live, keep half of the rest in cash fixed deposits across two or three different banks, some where I live and some in my home country. With the rest I’d set up an investment portfolio of high-rated bonds and equity index tracker funds.

  18. “You won’t recognize Canada when I get through with it.” His Conservative government is despised by 65% of Canadians, he won a majority government with only 40% of the popular vote. I think the other parties will unite and take him down come next election. The man has taken Canada 40 yrs backwards and people are ashamed of him being their PM. OH Canada!

  19. I'm a little concerned that my Halloween costume tonight might get close to Don't Show-cha Your Chocha levels of short... Which is why I'm wearing shorts underneath the miniskirt. I'm going as Hermione Granger, but the only pleated skirt I own is so short that I hardly ever wear it.

  20. It’s not marriage laws that are broken, it’s people’s morals. The reason children are born out of wedlock is because the man and woman are having sex with many different partners, sometimes don’t know who is who, and just figure they will receive welfare to get by. You will have divorce in any marital institution, sometimes being human means we make mistakes (choosing the wrong mate, cheating, whatever). People need to get morals again and that would cut down on some of the problems.

  21. You've really helped me understand the issues. Thanks.

  22. I'm in the middle of my second pair, having just recently worked out how to do it, and will happily knit you some, but I am still rather slow at it - you'd probably be looking at Christmas time if I started now! But if you are interested, perhaps we could do a mini swap? Just let me know.Rachel x
